A fortified settlement once stood on the almost perfectly flat summit plateau. Today, the rare sage grows here and watching the sunset from here is unbeatable.
The 459 meter high peak rises directly above our
boarding house in Klentnice. The hike will take you about half an hour along the green and then the red hiking trail.
In addition to the view of
Mikulov, Svatý Kopeček and Turold, in good weather you can try to count all the
wind turbines on the pre-Vienna field.
And then look for
Ethiopian sage. But don't move.
Table Mountain is the only native place in the country where this rare plant grows. According to one of the many theories, it was dragged here by a Roman legion camped in nearby Pasohlávky.
And after the rain, you might even come across the
huge earthworm allolobophora hrabei, which is up to 50 centimetres long!
From Stolová Hora you can then head to
Sirotčí hrádek, half a kilometre away, or a little further to
Kočičí skala.
